3 Days, 2 Nights Inside Kruger
This isn't a rushed loop through the park and back out again. You enter through Phabeni Gate on Day 1 already tracking, spend two full nights inside Kruger's rondavel camps, and get three separate game drives across two sunrises and two sunsets — with the whole evening in between to sit by a fire, listen to the bush, and actually be there rather than just pass through.

Why Monday and Friday, and what if they don't work?
We run this safari on Monday and Friday departures so we can align enough travellers onto the same dates to keep it running reliably, week after week — that's the whole reason the schedule exists, not a rigid rule for its own sake. If you're a solo traveller or a couple, you're always welcome to book onto one of those standard departures.
If your travel dates are already fixed and neither Monday nor Friday lines up, tell us anyway. We can look at running the safari over a different period of the week, provided there are at least 4 confirmed guests to plan around. For larger groups, we're also not locked into one particular camp or gate — get in touch and we'll put together whatever fits your numbers and your dates. We can build custom itineraries for longer stays and bigger groups too, once those minimums are met.
Two full days inside the park means two mornings for the sightings a single day trip might miss entirely.

Your Three Days
What each day of the safari actually looks like, morning to night.
Whether you've just landed at Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport or arrived by road, your open vehicle is waiting from midday — and the tracking starts the moment you're through Phabeni Gate. Elephant, lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo: your guide is reading the bush for all of it from the first kilometre. You'll stop for lunch at a rest camp before checking into your rondavel inside the park itself, then head straight back out for the afternoon drive as the light softens and the animals start moving again. Dinner is with your guide at the camp, and afterward there's nothing to do but sit outside under a genuinely dark sky and listen to a part of Africa that day visitors never get to hear.
This is the day the early alarm earns its keep. You're out before sunrise, when predators are still finishing whatever they got up to overnight — the single best window for lion and leopard movement in the whole trip. Around mid-morning you'll stop for a relaxed brunch, either at a rest camp or somewhere out in the bush, before the midday lull sends everyone back to camp for a siesta or a swim while the animals do the same. The afternoon drive picks back up as the heat breaks, chasing the golden light that makes for the best photographs of the whole safari. Dinner is around the fire again, and by the time you're back in your rondavel, you'll have heard enough of the night to understand why a second night here matters.
One last early start, and one last chance for whatever hasn't shown up yet — predators returning from a night hunt, elephant gathered at a waterhole, the kind of sighting that closes out a trip properly. After a final brunch around 10:30, you'll head out of the park in good time to connect with an onward flight or a transfer to your next stop. The safari ends here, but three days is enough for the sounds and sightings to stay with you well after you've left.
Why two nights beats one long day
A single-day safari gives you one sunrise and one sunset, both spent racing the gate's opening and closing times. This trip gives you two of each, plus the entire stretch in between — the fireside dinners, the night sounds, and a second morning to make up for anything the first one didn't deliver. Nothing in the bush is ever guaranteed, but more time inside the park is the one thing that consistently improves your odds.

Getting to Hazyview or Malelane
Transfers to and from Hazyview or Malelane aren't included in this rate — most guests either self-drive in or arrange a private road transfer from Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport.
